According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Sheriff's Office investigators arrested two people for felony child abuse on Monday, October 23, 2017. The suspects, Anglia D. Morris, 41, and Robin S. Morris, 55, both of Leesburg are the parents of the victim. According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, an allegation of severe neglect involving a child was made to the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) and a joint investigation was launched by the Sheriff's Office and DHR which resulted in the arrests. Both suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
