Sheriff's Office Arrest New York Sex Offender...

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, an out-of-state convicted sex offender, who failed to register with the Sheriff’s Office, was taken into custody on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.  Sheriff's Office investigators received information the suspect was living at a residence in Leesburg and had not complied with the Alabama Sex Offender Registration Act (SORNA).  After verifying with New York authorities of the conviction, investigators arrested Patrick E. Sullivan, 30, of Albany, New York. Sullivan was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where he awaits bond on a SORNA violation for entering the state without registering.
