According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Thursday, June 22, 2017, Denise E. Norman, 46, of Fort Payne, wanted for probation violation from Dade County, Georgia, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Office investigators at a residence on County Road 71 in Centre.  After discovering marijuana in and around the residence, investigators charged Norman with first degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  The suspect was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and will extradited to Dade County, after she is released on the local charges.
