Georgia Fugitive Arrested in Cherokee County...

On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, Sheriff Jeff Shaver and Sheriff's Office investigators assisted the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force in the apprehension of a Georgia fugitive.  Danny E. Moon, 59, was taken into custody at a residence in the McCord's community, where he had been staying. Moon is a registered sex offender in Polk County, Georgia, and is wanted in Georgia on sex offender registration related charges.  He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on a new Alabama Sex Offender Registration Notification Act violation and awaits extradition to Polk County.
