Sheriff’s Office Investigators Make Arrests on Multiple Burglaries…

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Monday, December 5, 2016, investigators arrested several individuals in connection with multiple burglaries and thefts which occurred during the last two weeks.
Matthew Ray Long, 34, and Patricia Kay Long, 33, both of Leesburg were charged with third degree burglary, first degree theft of lost property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia in connection to a burglary in the Leesburg area.
Three Gaylesville residents and one Cedar Bluff man was arrested in connection with burglaries which occurred in that area. Anthony Matthew Gilreath, 26, was charged with three counts of burglary, second degree theft of property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and attempting to elude. Steven Paul Warren, 19, was charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, second degree theft of property, and fourth degree receiving stolen property. Justin Caleb Sheppard, 22, was charged with fourth degree receiving stolen property. Robert Lester Dodd, 46 of Cedar Bluff, was charged with third degree receiving stolen property.
All of the suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they await bond. According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, investigators were also able to recover several items of the stolen property.
