Major Crimes Unit Investigating Double Homicide (Updated)

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the Major Crimes Unit is investigating a double homicide in the Tennala community. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, State Fire Marshals Office, District Attorney's Office, Cherokee County Coroner, and Center for Applied Forensics at Jacksonville State University are assisting with the investigation. Law enforcement is currently searching for a suspect, 30 year-old Jeffery Wilcox, Jr., last known driving a red 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with Calhoun county license plate number 11FR476. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Sheriff Shaver asks if anyone sees the suspect to immediately call 911.
