06/27/2016

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, Sheriff Jeff Shaver and Cherokee County investigators spoke to the students at Centre Elementary School as part of the So-Cool program. The program is sponsored by the Centre Rotary Club in conjunction with CED Mental Health, Cherokee County Commission, City of Centre, and others.  So-Cool provides a number of local children with activities over the summer months.  The students learned about different types of illegal drugs and their many dangers.  Keelo, the Sheriff’s Office canine, provided a demonstration for the kids.  Sheriff Shaver thanked Nancy Steed for the invitation to educate and interact with the children and also commended the effort she puts forth for the So-Cool program.
