According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, two suspects were captured and arrested, after attempting to elude law enforcement.  After receiving a call Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2016, dispatch broadcasted descriptions of a stolen vehicle and a suspect’s vehicle.  Chief Investigator Josh Summerford and Investigators Brent Snead and Michael Green spotted the suspect's vehicle on County Road 59 and attempted to stop the car. The subject refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued.  Other deputies and Centre police officers joined the pursuit as it continued onto County Road 19, then Hokes Bluff officers and Etowah County deputies also joined in as the pursuit crossed into Etowah County.  The suspects were able to elude law enforcement for a brief period in the Ball Play area, but were quickly apprehended while on foot.  Michael Sprayberry, 31, of Hokes Bluff and Justin Davis, 23, of Centre, were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with first degree theft of property.  Sprayberry was also charged with reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, and a host of traffic violations.  Investigators later recovered the stolen car along Terrapin Creek, near the location where the pursuit began.
