Investigator Matt Sims Competes in Tulsa, OK

 Investigator Matt Sims of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office at the International Defense Pistol Association 2014

   Investigator Matt Sims of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office competed in the International Defense Pistol Association 2014 U.S. National Championships inTulsa, Ok in September of this year. Sims took High Overall in the Senior Division decisively defeating the rest of field. Sims also placed 4th in the Custom Defense Pistol division Master Class.

   He was the first Four Gun Master as recognized by the International Defensive Pistol Association from the State of Alabama. He is the multi time Alabama State Champion, seven time Masters champion, and has dozens of State and Regional championship from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Michiganand many more. He has placed in the Top Five in each of the 13 IDPA National Championships that he has attended, and finished 1st place at the S & W Indoor Nationals in 2009 , 1st Place at the IDPA Inaugural World Shoot in 2011 and 1st place at the IDPA Nationals in 2013. Mr. Sims is an FBI and NRA Certified Police Firearms Instructor and has been involved in training with law enforcement and civilians in the art of concealed carry and self defense for many years. He is a firearms instructor for the Cherokee County Sheriff's  Office and also works as an adjunct instructor with the FBI.
