On Tuesday (September 23, 2014), Eric L. Revis, age 46, of a Piedmont address was arrested for possession of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age and dissemination of obscene matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age. Revis had recently moved to Cherokee County from West Virginia. 

    According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant of a residence on the south-end of Cherokee County.  Investigators seized several computers and devices containing pornographic images of children. 

    Sheriff Shaver appreciated the assistance from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and commended all of the investigators involved for working together to apprehend the man in these crimes against children.
