Georgia Man Arrested After Pursuit

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a Georgia man was arrested on Wednesday, July 9, after attempting to elude police officers.  Deputies observed a vehicle speeding on County Road 71 and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The driver refused to pull over and led officers on a chase for approximately 5 miles that entered Etowah County and returned to Cherokee County.  Jeremy Todd Alford, age 35, of Rome, Georgia, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Facility on charges of attempting to elude a police officer.
