   According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the Criminal Investigative and Counter-Drug Division and the Centre Police Department joined forces to execute a sting operation regarding alleged prostitution in the area.  The 2-day event resulted in several arrests.  Sheriff Shaver would like to thank all the agencies involved in carrying out the operation including the District Attorney's Office, Alabama Fire Marshall's Office, Anniston Police Department, Alcohol Beverage Control Board, and the Rainbow City Police Department.  We appreciate their help and tips from the public to stop this type of criminal activity in our county.   Anyone with information of criminal activity is urged to contact us via the anonymous tip line at 256-927-9999 or the Sheriff's Office at 256-927-3365.
