As hunting season approaches I want to remind everyone to practice safety when using firearms.  Have a good season and be safe.

4 Universal Laws of Guns Safety

  1. Treat all firearms as if they are always loaded.
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
  4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Tips for home safety with firearms

Never leave unsecured firearms in your home.  We recommend gun safes and or gun locks.   Safes come in various sizes and price ranges, from large multi gun to single gun with rapid access. This not only gives protection from theft but also keeps the firearms secure from youngsters and un-authorized adults.

Concealed Carry of Firearms in Alabama

To carry a firearm concealed inAlabamayou will need to obtain a concealed pistol or revolver permit from your local Sheriff’s Office.  Applications for permits are available to residents with no prior criminal history or mental illness.  The fee for the permit is twenty dollars (ten for senior citizens) and is to be renewed annually at the Sheriff’s Office.  As a courtesy to our residents a reminder will be mailed after the permit expires.

Safe Operation Depends On You

Firearms safety depends on you!  Make certain you read and understand your owners manual or seek assistance from a qualified individual before using your firearm.
